Welcome to the 2016 Spring Season
Dear LAPL Members,
Welcome to our Spring 2016 Season of the Los Angeles Pool League. We are happy to report a strong roster of our continuing players and new players joining us for the first time. Welcome to all the new players. Our first night of play will begin Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Attached is our schedule of play for this season.
Report from WCC 72 – Long Beach California – Our LAPL contingent did exceptionally well and took 4 trophies in Long Beach. Among these was a Second Place Finish in the Open Individualsthat went to Jose Torres; Sixth Place Individuals went to Michael Burritt (1st WCC event) and Seventh Place Open Individuals went to Ray Brewer (1st WCC event). LA took First Place in the Hi Lo event with our team of Bryan Haneiwich and Brian N. Lo Truglio. Our women individuals played strong as did our Team Talking ‘Bout Diversity. All in all, everyone represented Los Angeles very well. Thank you to the BOG and our referees.
WCC 73 –To be hosted by Los Angeles - Los Angeles will host West Coast Challenge Number 73 this July 8 – 10, 2016. Your Board of Governors will be working very hard to organize this event for our four city competition and we ask for your support and assistance. If any of you wish to volunteer to assist please let us know. We are looking for assistance with fundraising and advertising sales for our program book, playing table sponsors, a Logo for a T-Shirt Design, assistance with running the tournaments and assistance with refereeing matches.
Once again, we look forward to an enjoyable season, full of sportsmanship and good competition.
