Dear Members of The Los Angeles Pool League,

On October 7, 2019 I published information regarding a sister city league and issues with the BCA. This section of the article has been proven to be untrue. This notice is intended as a retraction to this information and to correct the record. If this information had an impact on the voting process of the BCA please contact me or a member of the board. The board may consider a revote on this matter. I apologize for any discord this information may have caused.

Week six of the fall season 92, 2019 has passed and week seven puts us close to wrapping up another great season. Get ready for playoffs. Board of Governors nominations will close week seven. Special vote ballots will be delivered to each team in week eight.

Members’, volunteering is important to the community and to our league. The benefits of volunteering are multifaceted. The league, our community, and you the volunteer all benefit from your efforts. Volunteer to serve on the LAPL Board of Governors. Nominations close week seven. Add your name to the score sheet as a board runner.

The Last LAPL Regular Fundraiser Tournament will be Bar Tabs and Cue Sticks. Hosted by Eagle LA October 27, 2019 registration at noon

The Los Angeles Pool League cannot exist without the generosity of volunteers. It is more important than ever that members volunteer for a seat on the Board of Governors. Your special skill set and personality will benefit the league, our members, community, and you in many ways. Nominate yourself by writing your name on the score as a BOG Runner. Nominations cannot be accepted after week seven.

Dear members,

Week four of the fall season 92, 2019 has passed and next week puts us at the halfway point of this season. Board of Governors Nominations and Elections will be her before we know it.

ATTENTION MEMBERS! Last week President, Allen Montalbano and Playoff Chair, Malisa Mapu met with the Burbank Marriott staff to finalize negotiations for the hotel to host the WCC in 2020. Negotiations went very well.

The hotel staff is beyond amazing, they are very supportive of our league, community, and cause. The LAPL will host the West Coast Challenge June 19-21 at the Burbank Marriott. Membership support is very important at WCC. WCC is not just for the top teams and players. There are opportunities for members to be referees, play in tournaments at the WCC, volunteer and support the BOG and friends playing for the top spot. Every member counts make plans to come out to the WCC in Burbank and have a great time.

Pick A Partner will be hosted be Jerry’s Family Billiards II October 6, 2019

Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your team mates, or bring people you don’t even know anyone can play in Pick A Partner. Pick A Partner is a Scotch Doubles, 8-Ball tournament. You choose your partner. The tournament is alternate shot and is played by LAPL rules. Registration starts at noon play starts at 1pm. Contact Steve Duckman for more information at 818-426-2171. Come out and play, We play well with others!

FUNDRAISING IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE LAPL WE NEED TO DEVELOP LONG TERM CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP!

The LAPL will be hosting the West Coast Challenge in June of 2020 at the Burbank Marriott Vice President and Fundraising Chair Steve Duckman, President Allen Montalbano, and Treasurer Al Ballesteros are working hard to secure the funds necessary for the LAPL to host the West Coast Challenge. Suggestions are welcome from the membership on these efforts. Donor support is more important than ever. We are currently seeking corporate sponsorship in tandem with our league fundraising efforts. Membership participation at fundraisers is a key to successfully meeting our financial goals. Support LAPL Fundraisers. Bar Tabs and Pool Sticks will be hosted by the Eagle LA at Noon October 27, 2019. Don’t miss it!

Week five of the fall season 92, 2019 has passed and next week puts us beyond halfway point of this season.

Board of Governors Nominations and Elections will be her before we know it.

The following is in regards to Voting on whether the LAPL becomes BCA sanctioned or not ATTENTION MEMBERS!
BCA information you need to know to make an informed vote:

-Each member will be required to pay $15.00 BCA Sanction fee
-Regular LAPL Dues will also remain at $260.00 per team
-All (100%) of members playing for LAPL would need to be sanctioned
-Non BCA Sanctioned players will not be allowed to play for LAPL
-Scoring will have to be reported to BCA
-League operations Software will be provided by BCA -LAPL Rules will stay the same
-LAPL may not be allowed to have sponsors in another BCA Leagues area
-LAPL players would receive a FARGO rating and would be eligible to play in BCA Nationals

Dear members,

Week three of the fall season 92, 2019 has passed and we are rapidly approaching the halfway point of this season. ATTENTION MEMBERS! A special ballot will be delivered to each team with an IMPORTANT item to be voted on. This ballot will be out with the election ballot. The item to be voted on is as follows:

Item: BCA Sanctioning of the Los Angeles Pool League. This ballot item will require all members of the LAPL to join the BCA and pay BCA fees $15.00 a year in addition to LAPL Dues. More information will be posted on the LAPL Website.

The Johnny Cochran Memorial Greased Lightning is This Sunday at the Eagle LA. Our next LAPL Fund Raiser tournament will be hosted by Eagle LA. This tournament is The Johnny Cochran Memorial Greased Lightning September 22, 2019. This is an individual’s 8-Ball with a 15 second shot clock. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s great practice. Show your support for the league and the game of 8-Ball by attending.

The West Coast Challenge Returns to Los Angeles June 19-21, 2019.  The LAPL will be hosting the West Coast Challenge in 2020 at the Burbank Marriott.

LAPL will have two fundraisers after the Johnny Cochran Memorial Greased Lightning. Pick-A-Partner at Jerry’s Family Billiards October 6, 2019 at Noon, and Bar Tabs and Pool Sticks at Noon at Eagle LA October 27, 2019
