Lucky Draw Recap

Well, if you forgot to set your clocks ahead an hour and woke up late you missed our ‘Lucky Draw’ tournament fundraiser this past Sunday at TRUNKS. A big thank you to Bill Holland, Vince, Omar and the rest of the staff that took care of us and helped make this another memorable event. After a rough start drawing the Scotch Doubles partners, a ‘redo’ discovered a new and fun way of matching up the players to fill our 16 team bracket.

Some of the more interesting teams to be produced from the new ‘semi- self serve’ process found James P. and Ian D. playing together, Tim C. and Bill D. joining forces and two of our oldest members in attendance with two of our newest and youngest members. Beating out Bill H. and Hamilton T. by only one year for each player was Charley M. and Lance T., however the number of years between each teams two players was the same, 37 years!!!

Not only was the ‘palindromelodramatic’ team of Walter Rich/Rich Walker comedic but they also proved to be a formidable match up…..who’d of thought? As our ‘King of the Hill’, they went on to win First Place without a single defeat.

Our 2nd Place winner was the strong team of Rick Ayres and Bill Bednash. Finishing in 3rd Place were Brad Camac and Reyleen Jimenez and in 4th Place, James Prather and Ian Dodrill. Congratulations to all our winners who enjoyed a smooth and uneventful Sunday at TRUNKS.

Our 50-50 drawing of $185.00 was split by Bill H. and Tod D. Thank you to Tod D. for once again putting up with me before, during and after all the tournament craziness and still he was able to put together the St. Patty’s Day ‘Go Green’ gift bags that were in the raffle.

Don’t forget to mark April Fool’s Day, Sunday, April 1st on your calendar and be sure to attend this seasons 7-8-9 tournament fundraiser at Penthouse Billiards. This is another one of our popular events and is always fun to play in and enjoyed by all who attend, even those who have to be shown how to rack for the 7 ball matches again and again.
