(This rule would be added to Section II General Duties of the Members)

Motion 7) is proposed by Phil Stephens
Motion to change Article VII Protest and Amendments

Section II Amendments
I propose that we change the requirement that motions are posted on the website and distributed to the members to a suggestion that any major changes to rules should be posted.  So that if for some reason a motion is inadvertently not posted that the members could still vote on it.  And that minor changes can be made at the members meeting.

The new wording would be:
All new business should be submitted to any board member at least 48 hours in advance of the members meeting and if possible, will be posted on the website prior to the meeting.  Submission should be written in the form of a motion.  Any major changes to organization or major rule changes must be distributed to the members prior to the meeting.

Motion 8) is proposed by Saeromi Kim
I move to create a new Board position to be in charge of Membership and Recruitment.  This role would focus efforts on recruiting new members, increasing advertising, and connecting new members to teams, or helping new members create new teams.  While these responsibilities may already be assumed by current board members, I think more focused and sustained efforts would be made possible by this new role.

Motion 9) is proposed by Dustin Louie
I move to reinstate team names starting immediately for the current 8-ball season. It would be great to have our own identity rather than just a host bar and a number.

Dear Members of the LAPL,

I want to thank everyone who participated in this past weekend's Greased Lightning Fundraiser.  We moved this tournament to the Sunday before the season started on very short notice and ended up with the largest number of players for an individual tournament for years.  We raised over $500...Bravo!! to everyone who played and thanks to all the BOG members who gave their time to help run the event.

1st Place – Andreas (Guest from Germany)
2nd Place – Schesary Berrios
3rd Place – Cliff Giles, Jr.
4th Place – Tommy Nguyen

Winner of 50/50 Raffle – Jake Fisher/Phil Stephens

We have had a successful start of season 81.  There are quite a few new players as well as existing players who were members of teams that no longer exist.

CAPTAINS: if any of your teams are in need of players please let one of the BOG members know and we may be able to fill your needs.

Thanks for helping get the season off to a great start!

Brad Camac
President LAPL

Dear LA Pool League,

Please mark your calendars and be sure to attend our Members Meeting to kick off the Spring 2014 season. The meeting will be held Oxwood Inn on next Tuesday January 21, 2014. Try to be there by 7:30 to pay your dues and we will start the meeting at 8:00 pm.

Captains:
We will need your roster for the season along with your team dues. Remember that the dues have increased to $260 / team this season. There have been some changes in bars and tables available as we have lost 2 Sponsor Bars. Revolver no longer has a pool table and Penthouse Billiards has been sold and will become a night club. If you are looking for a place to play we will have openings @ CFrenz: 2 tables, and The Other Door 2 tables.

Any Captains looking for players, please email Brad Camac at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your needs. We may have some players in need of teams.

If you would like to propose any changes or additions to our rules, please have them to Brad Camac or any BOG member in the form of a Motion no less than 48 hours before the meeting.

I look forward to the new season and seeing everyone again.

All the best,

Brad Camac
President LAPL
