The stats are late because 3 teams were late getting the scores in.  Captains please get the scores in on time!

Dear Members,

Next Tournament - Not This Sunday - But Next Sunday. Our Greased Lightening Tournament will be held on Sunday, October 11 at 12:30 p.m. Please mark your calendar for a week from this Sunday for this tournament that will be held at the Eagle LA and remember to remind your teammates or perhaps bring a friend. Remember, if you are a new player to the league your first fundraiser will be free to enter.

Board of Governors: We are half way through the season and nominations are still open for three seats on the Board. So far those running for a seat are: Jon Bourgault, Bryan Haneiwich and Al Ballesteros. Nominations will stay open until the end of the Seventh night of play. Elections will be held on week nine.

In case you missed it from the last Cue News, the Open Individuals and Women's Tournament will be held at Jerry's Billiards in Pasadena on December 5 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sign up and practice will begin at 9:00 a.m. This will be the first time in a long while that our league will be able to have our Open Individuals and Women's Tournament playing alongside together. Our plan is to get through the top 7 players of the Open Individuals and complete the Women's Tournament by the end of Saturday, December 5. The next day Sunday, December 6 the remaining participants in the Open Individuals will play for the Top 7 positions and we will also host the Last Chance Qualifier. Play will start at 12:00 noon for both tournaments. We will have food, prizes, pictures and fun. So, we are hoping to have a full bracket this year for these three tournaments.

Until next time, play well, shoot well and have a great time.

Dear Players,

Our 9 Ball Tournament will be held this coming Saturday at Trunks with signup beginning at 12:30 and play at 1 p.m.

Remember, new players to the league get free entrance into their first tournament so if you have not come out yet, please join us for 9 Ball.  Also, we had several non league members attend our last couple of events and we ask our
league members to bring people they know that might want to get introduced to the league.

If you are interested in running for a seat on the Board of Governors, please write your name on the score sheet before the end play on week seven.  There are three seats open (correction from last Cue News).  Thus far, the individuals who are running are: Bryan Haneiwich and Al Ballesteros.

Until next week, shoot well and have fun.

Al Ballesteros, President
LAPL

Also due to a scheduling error by me the match between Trunks 23 and C-Frenz 26 has been moved to Public House.  This is also why the stats are late this week.  My apologies to everyone.

Bryan

Dear LAPL Members,

We hope to see you this Saturday, September 26 for our 9 Ball Tournament at Trunks. Sign up will be at 12:30 and play at 1:00 p.m.

If you are interested in running for one of three open seats on the Board of Governors, please write your name on the score sheet before the end of the 7th night of play and include this in the comments when you submit your scores.

From the Playoff Chair:
Jerry's Family Billiards in Pasadena will be our host for this season's Hi/Lo and individual tournaments. Frank, Carlo, Eli & the entire staff are SUPER friendly, the six tables are in GREAT condition, there's plenty of space for all of us, and super cheap beer! For those of you who play darts, there is also a machine that you can go against other players around the world.

FYI, Jerry's is located just north of the 210 (1312 N Lake Ave), has ample free parking behind the venue for everyone attending, and it's also close to the Gold Line, so those of you making the trip via public transit like me should find it very convenient. We're working on having food at the venue, and there are also a variety of restaurants within walking distance.  The Hi/Lo Tournament will be held Sunday, November 8th.  The Open Individuals, Women's Individuals and Last Chance Qualifier will all be held for the first time on one weekend at one location - December 5th and 6th.  A HUGE thanks to Jerry's for hosting!

Until next time, shoot well and have fun.

Dear LAPL Members,

This Sunday, September 13 we will host our Junior / Senior tournament at Trunks with sign-up at 12:30 p.m. and play beginning at 1:00 p.m. This is a great tournament to participate in if you are new to the league. Remember, all new players will be able to play in their first tournament for free. We also would like to encourage league members to bring individuals who might be interested in playing in the league to the tournaments. This is a good way to introduce the LAPL to new members so that they can get a sense of the activities we host. So, please reach out to friends this season and invite a couple to the tournaments.

Nominations are now open for four positions on the Board of Governors. Please write your name on the scoresheet if you are interested in placing your name in contention for a seat on the board. Nominations will stay open until the end week 7 of the season. If you have questions about the roles of board members and how you might be able to help, email us here at this address or speak to an existing board member. We would be happy to provide information to you.

Until next week, shoot well.

Al Ballesteros, President
LAPL
